We invite you to submit a nomination for the 2019 Caritas Award with the enclosed form. Please note the nomination deadline is March 1, 2019.

The distinguished Caritas Medal is the highest award presented by the University to an alumna/alumnus of either Spalding University or Nazareth College. The term “Caritas” comes from “Caritas Christi Urget Nos” (The Charity of Christ Urges Us), the motto of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. The medal winner honored embodies the philosophy, mission, and tradition of Spalding University.

This award is presented annually to an alumna/alumnus of any faith tradition, selected from our diverse community of graduates who, within her/his community or on a national or international level, has made a significant contribution in their field (professional, cultural, religious, etc.) and who manifests the qualities and spirit of service encompassed in the ideal of Caritas. The Caritas winner must be in attendance at the Commencement ceremony on June 1, 2019 to receive the award.
